**Position Overview**:

The head of the social media team leads the organisation's overall social media strategy, ensuring content, tone, and engagement align with organisational goals. The head of the social media team manages a team of up to 10 volunteers serving as social media officers, sets platform strategies, and reports on social media performance to the Executive Director.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**

- Creating and updating a unified social media strategy aligned with the organisational goals and branding
- Managing, coordinating and mentoring the social team
- Leading the execution of the content posting based on the day-to-day social media calendar
- Supporting social media officers in the execution of the content posting and ensuring consistency and relevance
- Leading campaign planning and cross-channel execution
- Managing social media performance across platforms

**Qualifications:**

- 5–10 years of social media or digital content creation experience
- Experience leading teams and skilled at cross-functional collaboration across teams
- Proven record of growing brand visibility and engagement through organic and paid strategies
- Strong understanding of platform-specific trends, best practices, and the nuances of major platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, BlueSky)
- Proficiency in utilising social media analytics tools to measure performance, identify trends, and optimise social media strategies
- Leadership and team development
- Demonstrated interest in the mission and values of the organisation
- Professional-level English written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work harmoniously and productively on a remote team
