It was established in 1986 as a regional disaster preparedness center (DMC). ADPC has grown and expended its role to be for scientific, educational, developmental, and humanitarian purposes. ADPC employs a wide range of professional expertise typically required for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Resilience (CR) in and effective manner.

The Finance and Accounting Unit is one of the ADPC’s Program Support Service Units with interlinked responsibilities with the Human Resource and Administration Unit and Procurement Unit and solely or jointly responsible for:

- Ensure compliance with statutory, legislative, and donor requirements.
- Safeguard ADPC’s cash, resources, and financial assets through effective internal control procedures.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the key control framework to minimize the risk of fraud and irregularities across ADPC.
- Ensure the availability of accurate and timely financial information for management decision-making.
- Develop and utilize appropriate financial tools to capture, store, and analyze financial data effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure the accuracy of budgetary information by promoting accountability and ownership among budget owners and facilitating budget monitoring.
- Allocate resources based on the priorities outlined and approved in the annual work plan.
- Administer institutional and donor audits in accordance with established guidelines.

Objectives of the Internship

- To provide hands-on experience in financial and accounting functions
- To support the Finance and Accounting Unit in maintaining accurate financial records
- To enhance understanding of financial procedures and internal controls

**Expected Outputs:** The intern will be expected to gain their hands-on experience and understanding of finance and accounting functions in line with the Term of Reference of this assignment by performing specific tasks as outlined in the Responsibilities and Tasks section.

**Responsibilities and Tasks:**

The Finance and Accounting intern will assist in the following tasks:

- Review airfare invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness, and proper documentation, and prepare summaries of airfare for batch payment
- Review Travel Authorization (TA) to ensure accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation
- Validate the Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) calculation, in accordance with applicable policies and guidelines
- Communicate with requesters to obtain clarification or additional information as required
- Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned

**Working Principles:** The Finance and Accounting Intern will be supervised by the Financial Management Analyst and will work closely with designated staff in Finance and Accounting Unit on day-to-day basis, supported by other team members while also coordinating with staff across various departments and units.

**Qualifications:**

- Thai nationality
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications
- Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles will be an advantage

**Duty Station:** ADPC Bangkok office

**Duration:** Three months’ internship contract with the possibility of extension subject to funds availability and performance.

**Itinerary:** N/A

**Condition of payment:** The payment will be based on a monthly basis, supplemented with a monthly timesheet submitted and approved by designated supervisor.
